About This Tour

Kedarnath is a revered pilgrimage destination nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, at an altitude of about 3,583 meters above sea level. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and breathtaking landscapes, Kedarnath is one of the most sacred sites in Hinduism and forms part of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit. The town is best known for the Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Shiva. Believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the temple stands as an architectural and spiritual marvel. Constructed from massive stone slabs, it has withstood harsh weather conditions and even natural disasters, including the devastating floods of 2013. Kedarnath is located near the source of the Mandakini River, adding to its spiritual significance. Pilgrims undertake a challenging trek of around 16 kilometers from Gaurikund to reach the temple, though modern facilities such as helicopter services are now available. The journey itself is considered an act of devotion, offering stunning views of glaciers, valleys, and rugged mountain terrain. The temple is open to devotees only for a few months each year, typically from April or May until October or November, due to extreme winter conditions when the region becomes inaccessible. During this period, thousands of pilgrims visit daily to seek blessings and experience the divine atmosphere. Kedarnath represents a profound blend of faith, endurance, and natural beauty. Its remote location, spiritual aura, and majestic surroundings make it not just a place of worship, but also a symbol of devotion and resilience in the face of nature’s grandeur.
